First things first… you are going to need a box.

This can be any kind of box, but preferably one that looks professional. You can get boxes at Home Depot, a liquor store or you can even go to an arts and crafts store.

Once you’ve got your box, you are going to need a shoe.

For this, you can either give away one of the shoes you already own or go buy a new shoe. The classier the shoe, the better…

Once you have your shoe, put it in the box.

Now here’s where the fun begins…

You are going to send the box with the one shoe in it to your dream mentor. Who is the person you’ve always dreamed of speaking with? Who do you aspire to be like? Who do you look up to? This is the person you will send the box to.

But before you do that…

There’s one last thing…

Write a little note to include in the box with the shoe. It’s going to say…

“I hope you like my creativity. This is a sign of me putting one foot in the door. Please let me get my other foot in there as well and give me just 15 minutes of your time. Thanks so much.”

Include your contact information on the note.
