Here are a number of growth hacking strategies for a local business:
- Run a hyper-local Facebook ad campaign using
images of well-known places in your city (Golden Gate Bridge). For
example, if you’re a local San Francisco yoga studio, then have a your
Facebook ad picture of your lead teacher in front of the Golden Gate
Bridge.
For targeting, select people who are interested in the particular type of yoga you’re selling.
Use the ad to promote a discount, loyalty program, or create high-quality content - inspirational/funny/helpful - Use the tool Audiense to find everyone in your city who’s on Twitter, then use the tool again to filter them based on keywords in their bio and how active they are on Twitter.
- Use Mass Planner to mass schedule Twitter mentions to the people you’ve discovered in #2
- Have a loyalty program (i.e. sandwich punch card)
- Upload your customer and prospect email lists to your phone to follow and interact with all your customer on Instagram
- Same steps in #5 except for Twitter
- Hold regular events at your location in which people must register through Eventbrite to attend. This is an easy way to establish rapport, get email addresses, and develop a strong community.
- Connect with as many customers as possible on Facebook (if you do this, avoid posting controversial content - politics/hardcore religious stuff). Focus on branding yourself on Facebook by posting high-quality content pertaining to your industry (industry leader appeal).
- Use Facebook Events to drive people to Eventbrite (refer to #7)
- Run sweepstakes to get a flood of positive reviews on Yelp and Facebook
